Robert Whitebird

Robert Anderson Whitebird, III of Miami, OK passed from this life Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. He was 53.

Robert was born November 9, 1967 to Robert Anderson and Dora Ann (Shade) Whitebird, Jr. He had lived in the Miami area for past 6 years moving from Moore, OK. He was a member of the Quapaw, Eastern Shawnee and Blackfoot Tribes. He was a wellness coordinator with the Quapaw Fitness Center. Robert graduated from University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. He was past President of the University of Oklahoma American Indian Student Association. He was an avid OU fan. He loved Marvel movies, enjoyed Cosplay with his family and loved playing with his grandson.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers ,Roger Keene, Larry Whitebird and Johnny Keene.

Survivors include his children, Tony Whitebird and wife Alisha of Norman, OK, Mimi Geimausaddle of Lawton, OK, Ravyn Whitebird of the home and Quinn (Cia) Whitebird of the home, 2 brothers, Morgan Keene of Grove, OK and Mitchell Keene of Lexington, OK and 1 grandson, Jiriah Whitebird.

Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021at the Quapaw Tribal Building east of Quapaw, OK. Native American rites will be conducted by Everett Bandy. Stephen Lee, James Wilson, Dax Cavender, Chase Keene, Newley Bingham and Morgan Keene will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in the Whitebird Cemetery, east of Quapaw, OK. Robert will lie in state at the Quapaw Tribal Building. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
